About CDS

CDS ( Combined Defence Service) exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in year generally in the month of April & September and notification the same comes in the month of June and December , to induct aspirants as an officers in Indian Armed forces(Indian Army, Navy & Air force).This entry is only for graduates aspirants.

Selection Procedure

It’s a two step selection procedure first UPSC Conducts written offline exam for the aspirants and those who clear the written exam called for interview (generally known as SSB(Service Selection Board)). Interviews are taken by the respective selection boards of army , navy & air force. Those aspirants who gets recommend in interview afterwards they have to clear the medical exams. Final Merit is prepared on the basis of written and interview marks and aspirants are called for Training in accordance with available vacancies.

Training

For Permanent Commission – IMA/INA/AFA (Only for male Aspirants)
For Short Service Commission – OTA Chennai (Both Male & Female Aspirants)

Eligibility

Educational Qualification : Graduation Passed or in final year of Graduation Course.

Gender : Both male & female( Female Aspirants are eligible OTA only)

Age : Between the age of 19 and 25 (till the time of joining academy)

Approx 340 (IMA-100, INA-22, AFA-32, OTA(For Male)-170, OTA(For Female)-16)

What OTS (Officers Training School) offers?

OTS provides foundation course for the college or universities students considering the vast coverage of syllabus. We also provide Short duration 4 month course for those students who are in the final year of graduation or those who had completed their graduation.
